Teach LOVE not hate

I really believe we should teach our children to LOVE - love music, love each other, love friends, love family, love their enemies and learn to love getting along with others.

I am inspired to start this blog due to recent incidents where we have heard of "Christians" teaching their children to hate LGBT individuals and families.

It is time for the LGBT community to start speaking up more, coming out more and speaking out more to what is fair and just. We have to speak up to churches who are using words like: "Truth and Hope" in their names. The truth is they lie to their children and cause people to lose hope.

EXAMPLES:
1) Charles L. Worley, North Carolina Pastor of Providence Road Baptist Church gave a Mother's Day sermon where he said:
"President Obama gettin' up to say two women can marry or two men can marry - I'll tell you right now I was disappointed bad, I'll tell you right there it's as sorry as you can git, the Bible's agin it, God's agin it, I'm agin it and if you've got any sense you're agin it. I had an idea of how to get rid of the Lesbians & queers by building a great big large fence 50 or a hundred mile long put all the Lesbians in there. Fly over and drop some food. Do the same thing for the queers and homosexuals and have that fence electrified where they can't git out, feed 'em and in a few years they'll die out - ya know why? They can't reproduce. . . If someone says, who you gonna vote for? I ain't gonna vote for a baby killer or a homosexual lover." (This is in reference to Obama declaring that all people in the US should be allowed to get married.)

2) Curtis Knapp, pastor of Seneca, Kansas New Hope Baptist Church said: "That's why homosexuality is not accepted in Israel. You just kill 'em and it tends to limit conversions and it limits people from coming out of the closet. Oh, so you're saying we should go out and start killing them? No, I'm saying the government should. They won't, but they should."

3) A young child in Greensburg, Indiana sings a song: "I know the Bible's right, somebody's wrong . . . ain't no homes gonna make it to heaven." Performed at the Apostolic Truth Tabernacle Church.

THE RESULTS:
30 murders motivated by bias against LGBT and HIV affected people in the U.S. last year. This is the largest number ever recorded by the National Coalition of Anti-Violence Programs. 87% of the victims were people of color.

IN THE BIBLE:
The word "LOVE" is mentioned 314 times. As in love thy neighbor & love your enemies . . .
"HATE" is mentioned 87 times.

REVOKE Church's Tax Exempt Status:
"In this country, Christians can teach toddlers to hate and to persecute, and we, through the automatic tax exemption for churches, foot the bill," said Anne Rice author of "Interview with a Vampire."

It is time for the US government to get some of the tax money that back that churches do not pay. Since we are struggling financially as a country - let's take away that tax exempt status.
